By D2 and LoD and the game is jerky even on a brand new Mac. To do is download the CD disk off of.
What is Diablo II?Diablo II is an action RPG, point and click, isometric view hack and slash and is the successor to. It picked up right where the excellent first release of the game left and made everything even better. It's worth noting that following the first release of the game, Diablo II was one of the most replayed game of all time, thanks to its randomly generated levels, ennemies and items, making each run a sightly different experience.
Diablo II is an award winning masterpiece game, given a 94% score from PC Gamer magazine.Download Diablo II for Mac. Look up titles, filenames, SHA1, PN #.

No classic. What are the requirements for me to install and play Diablo II and LOD. Is there a Mac user on this group who can point me in the right direction.
Many thanks.Blizzard has an OS X installer you can download on their web site. Itwill do the installation without requiring you to run OS 9.
Just insertyour discs. The requirements are pretty much that you have enough RAM and hard diskspace (as long as you use that installer) but I'm guessing a new iMac isgoing to have you more than covered in that regard. That being said, I would recommend you set the video to the lowestsettings (no music, low quality lighting and shadows) and use 2Dsoftware rendering instead of 3D (hold down the option key whilelaunching to choose this). The Mac's graphic's controller is poorly usedby D2 and LoD and the game is jerky even on a brand new Mac.
My3-year-old eMachine runs D2 better than my brand new Mac Mini despitethe Mini's greater speed and greater RAM (and the fact that the eMachineis a low end consumer model PC).You may notice some other problems as well such as intermittent crashingand weird screen appearance depending on your monitor size andresolution (mine runs with a black bar across the bottom). All in all,the implementation for OS X is not the best. It could be my computer'sconfiguration that makes it run badly so YMMV.One benefit though is that you can (still) run the game off of discimages as you did in OS 9 so you can put your discs away and mount animage to play from.Shari (Orchid). My 3-year-old eMachine runs D2 better than my brand new Mac Mini despite the Mini's greater speed and greater RAM (and the fact that the eMachine is a low end consumer model PC).I'll try the settings you suggest, and see how that goes. I have to say thatthe game is very jerky. You may notice some other problems as well such as intermittent crashing and weird screen appearance depending on your monitor size and resolution (mine runs with a black bar across the bottom).
All in all, the implementation for OS X is not the best. It could be my computer's configuration that makes it run badly so YMMV.The game is very unsatisfactory. It stalls, goes very slowly duringconflict, and for some reason stalls when trying to exit the game.
And thenafter about 1 minute it brings up the normal D2 exit screen to finish offnormally. At the moment I think that the game is to all intents and purposesun-playable. I'll try the suggestions you made a bout altering the video etcand see if that makes any difference. If not, I'll junk it. I'm certainlynot going back to a Windows PC just to be able to run D2. One benefit though is that you can (still) run the game off of disc images as you did in OS 9 so you can put your discs away and mount an image to play from. Many thanks for your reply.

You may notice some other problems as well such as intermittent crashing and weird screen appearance depending on your monitor size and resolution (mine runs with a black bar across the bottom). It could be my computer's configuration that makes it run badly so YMMV.It sounds to me as if it could be at least partly your system as I don'tget those issues even on my iMac DV (which is at least five years old, probably more -.I. need better memory ). Of course three computersis too small a sample to be sure about that.-Carol'This might as well say 'bing tiddle tiddle bong'.It's complete gibberish!' - Rodney McKay, Stargate Atlantis. I've been playing LOD on both machines for a good long while now (about 3 or 4 years) and I'd say that, while the jerkyness is less on the PC, my best performance is on my dual processor G4. I think that it's the dual processor support that makes it. Both my PC and a frind of mine's are more than twice the clock speed of the G4 (800MB) with as much or more RAM, but the G4 runs the game the best. What I want to know is how to get the two platforms to play on the same TCP network game.
I can get my G4 desk top and G4 iBook too network great, and at my friends house we can play on his PCs no problem. The character file transports between platforms effortlessly, and it's a dual platform install disk that we've used to install on the computers. Still, I've been trying for more than two years (unsuccesfully) to network the Mac and the Windows forthe game.Does anyone have any suggestons how to solve my difficulties? Ok this is what u do. All you have to do is download the CD disk off of is the link to the download for mac os x! I dont think intell chip will work but im on a G4 and it works perfect, mabey a bit fast aswell. Anyway, this work very well and its a torrent so you have to download it with limewire or Vuze.
It takes about 12 hours straight to download but its worth it, you can go on b.net and stuff and it comes with CD-codes!!!!!!! If you have any questions just email me at [email protected] and goodbye.
